Introduction
A mobile-first wallet that provides local and non crypto-savvy communities with an easy payments tool. To foster financial inclusion, the Kolektivo Wallet provides a service similar to Mobile Money β an electronic payments service enabling users to store, send, and receive money using only their mobile phones. This safe and easy method for electronic payments makes mobile money a popular alternative to bank accounts and is already widely used in many countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, East Asia, and the Pacific.
The Kolektivo Wallet is a fork of the Celo ecosystemβs popular Valora wallet. Using this already-existing infrastructure and the Celo blockchain we get a host of benefits, such as Celoβs low gas fees, which can be paid for in multiple currencies β making payments simple and hassle-free. In addition, the Kolektivo Wallet includes a local merchant list, a community feed, as well as a crypto exchange mechanism.

Refresh Security
What is a recovery key phrase?
A recovery key phrase is a list of words given when setting up a Web3 Wallet. When you signed up for the Kolektivo Wallet, Kolektivo sent you a private key that you should only use in emergencies -- like when you lost your phone, or have deleted your app.
If you've lost your recovery key, or worse think that your account may no longer be secure, we can refresh your Wallet security for you. We'll create new codes to secure your funds, and you'll receive an email with instructions.
MPC
Here, you can inform yourself about a technology used by the Kolektivo Wallet: Multi-Party Computation.
What is MPC?
Multi-Party Computation (MPC) is a technology that allows multiple parties to jointly compute a function while keeping their inputs private. This means that sensitive information can be processed without being revealed to anyone. MPC allows the private address to be divided into unique keyshares and distributed among different parties. This provides strong security guarantees for individuals and institutions managing digital assets.

What's Next?
Below are some of the upcoming features for the Wallet:
An integration of Safe in the Kolektivo Wallet, specifically geared towards local business teams to co-manage their funds. With Safeβs multi-signature signing, selected digital asset transactions must be approved by multiple designated members of a company or organization β enhancing fund management security and transparency for merchants.
Gas payments with kGuilder and other community currencies. While Celo supports gas payments in multiple currencies, kGuilder will not be one of them on the MVP launch. We are working on a proposal to submit to Celoβs governance to not only list kGuilder as a gas token payment option, but future Kolektivo community currencies moving forward. In the meantime, users of the wallet will receive a small amount of CELO tokens to cover their gas payments.
